After Submission

Authors will receive email notifications confirming the receipt of their manuscripts and all editorial decisions through the Open Journal Systems (OJS/PKP) platform. During the review process, authors may track the status of their submissions by logging into their OJS author account.

Authors are expected to maintain the confidentiality of their submission and should not disclose that a manuscript has been submitted or is under review to any individual or organization other than coauthors and acknowledged contributors, unless prior permission is obtained from the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening by a member of the editorial team. At this stage, manuscripts are evaluated based on the following criteria:
Originality and relevance to the aims and scope of the journal
Timeliness and significance of the topic
Clarity, coherence, and scholarly quality of writing
Appropriateness and rigor of study design and methodology
Validity and integrity of data
Soundness of analysis and conclusions, supported by evidence
Relevance and interest to the journal’s readership

Manuscripts that do not meet these basic criteria or fall outside the journal’s scope may be rejected without external peer review to ensure an efficient editorial process. Manuscripts deemed suitable for further consideration are forwarded to external expert reviewers.

The Nurse Educators and Practitioners Journal (NEPJ) employs a double-blind peer review process, in which reviewer identities are kept confidential, while author identities are disclosed to reviewers. The existence and content of manuscripts under review are known only to the assigned reviewers and authorized editorial staff.

Peer reviewers are required to treat all manuscripts as strictly confidential and must not share, discuss, or disclose any information related to a manuscript or its contents with third parties without explicit permission from the journal editors. Reviewers are also instructed not to upload or submit confidential manuscripts, abstracts, or review content into chatbots, language models, or similar AI-assisted tools.

Final decisions regarding manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection are made by an editor without any relevant conflicts of interest, based on the reviewers’ reports and the journal’s editorial standards.

To support continuous improvement of editorial and peer review practices, anonymized information from submitted manuscripts may be aggregated and analyzed for internal quality-assurance purposes. All identifying information remains confidential in accordance with the journal’s privacy policy.

Appeals
Authors may appeal decisions. All appeals are reviewed by the editor in chief, on a case-by-case basis, or a designated editor if the editor in chief is recused from the review.
